Hockey hub is an online resource for players, coaches and umpires. It hosts a range of resources including the rules of hockey, free umpire e-learning development modules and “You’re the umpire”, an engaging tool where users can comment on an umpiring decision with the help of a video clip. It also has a comprehensive Umpire membership, offering additional e-learning modules and content and more. Some parts of the hockey hub require a log-in but it is completely free to sign up.
Youth Hockey Hub
Each year thousands of children play in basketball, football and baseball leagues. These sports are all well-known in American culture, but despite their prominence in youth culture, none of them have a dedicated online home like youth hockey. That changed with the creation of Youth Hockey Hub in 2011. Now, parents can keep tabs on their kid’s team and get a feel for the culture of youth hockey. The site offers rankings in Minnesota, Colorado and the United States, as well as a weekly feature called ’10 with Tony’ where Tony Scott, founder of the website and father of three young hockey players, catches fans up on the latest happenings.
Michele Amidon, Katie Gaus and Hannah Westbrook all have roots in the sport that span decades. Now, as NHL female ambassadors and members of the Colorado hockey community, they aim to grow involvement in the girls game in the Centennial State.
