New Jersey Has Its Own Hockey Video Game!

When we think of hockey video games, it’s easy to forget that it was the North Americans who created the first version. Back in 1980, the National Hockey League wanted to create a game to be played between their players and fans at their arena. As luck would have it, they met with a great player named Bobby Orr. As you might expect, these two quickly made the best hockey video games in the world. They were so good, in fact, that the NHL and the players actually sued the hockey equipment company that created them for illegal copyright to use. It was a messy case, and it ended up being lost.

Still, that didn’t stop hockey from trying to come up with its own proprietary hockey video game. Two years later, the North American Professional Hockey Association (NHL) started play. Unlike the NHL, the OHA did not sue its manufacturers, but it did put restrictions on the hockey equipment and other equipment that was allowed to be worn. The result was a hockey stick that was longer, stronger, and much heavier than sticks of the time.

Two seasons later, the NHL introduced another hockey video game that would become one of the most popular games in history. This game was called NHL Featuring the Pittsburgh Penguins. It was a sequel to the popular hockey video game “The International Series” that the NHL had produced a few years before. This time around, the players were set on wearing black colored t-shirts instead of the white ones they had been used to wear before. The International Series featured an all black clad team.

This time, there were no long sleeve t-shirts. No long sleeves. No sleeves at all. This new jersey meant that the players could no longer just be kids, they were hockey players, period. The NHL really got into it with this one.

A few years later, the NHL got even more involved with its televised broadcasts and even more involved with its hockey video games. They created a new video game to broadcast on T.V. that featured each team playing against some of its own players. These were the first televised NHL games, in fact.

The thing about these hockey league players is that, they are real players. They are not just playing for fun. Some of them are among the best in the world, and are able to bring a heart and soul to fans that may be watching for the first time. These players are also able to make the game more fun by telling interesting stories during breaks in play. They can also make some players seem better than they actually are, as they have a unique way of playing that draws the viewers in. There is no doubt that hockey fans will always be looking for the next great game, and the new jersey that video game companies are creating may very well be it.
